01 / 7 QUESTIONS

Services & accessibility

Choose the service and discuss the assistance that fits your journey.

What transportation services can I request?

DC Elite Transport accepts requests for non-emergency medical appointment rides, wheelchair-accessible van transportation, private vehicle rides, and medical package pickup and delivery. You can also discuss recurring appointments or a hospital discharge ride. The owner confirms availability and suitability for each request.

Is this an ambulance or emergency transportation service?

No. DC Elite Transport provides non-emergency transportation. For a medical emergency, call 911. A ride request should not be used to arrange an emergency response.

Can I request a ride with a manual or power wheelchair?

Yes. Tell us whether you use a manual or power wheelchair, the assistance you need, and any entrance barriers at pickup or destination. The owner reviews the chair and passenger setup with you and confirms vehicle suitability before booking.

How many wheelchair riders and riders using walkers can travel together?

The accessible van accommodates up to two wheelchair riders and two riders using walkers, plus one seated guest passenger, in the same configuration. Share the full passenger count and mobility needs when requesting the ride. The owner confirms your trip and assistance before booking.

Can a family member or caregiver ride with me?

Yes. One seated guest passenger, such as a family member or caregiver, is allowed per trip. Include the guest in your ride request and say whether they will accompany you on both the outbound and return legs.

What should I tell you about boarding and entrance access?

Share your mobility aid and whether either location has steps, an elevator, or an accessible entrance. Discuss the assistance you need for entering, boarding, and exiting. The owner confirms the assistance and suitable pickup arrangement before booking; describe access needs without a diagnosis or medical history.

What if I need a stretcher, oxygen support, or medical care during the ride?

Call the owner to review those requirements before making transportation arrangements. Stretcher transport, oxygen support, clinical care, and crisis response are not included in a standard non-emergency ride request. For a medical emergency, call 911.

02 / 7 QUESTIONS

Scheduling, returns & recurring rides

Make a clear plan for pickup, the journey home, and regular appointments.

Does submitting a ride request confirm my booking?

No. The calendar shows available pickup windows based on current openings and occupied times, but selecting a time starts a request. Schedule at least 2 hours ahead. The owner confirms the vehicle, route, schedule, assistance, final quote, and payment arrangement before the ride is booked.

What information should I have ready to request a ride?

Have the pickup and destination addresses, preferred date and pickup time, appointment time if relevant, passenger counts, mobility and entrance-access needs, and the arranging contact's phone number ready. Say whether the trip is one way, a round trip, or recurring. Allow at least 2 hours before pickup; the owner must approve the request.

Can I request transportation for today?

You can request a same-day non-emergency trip at least 2 hours before pickup. Call 972-903-5199 to discuss the route and timing; availability is not guaranteed. A same-day booking adds $30 once per request when the trip is accepted, in addition to any applicable fare and timing charges.

How do I arrange a return ride if I do not know when my appointment will finish?

A calendar round trip requires an available return pickup time so both legs can be reviewed. If you do not know when your appointment will finish, call 972-903-5199 to arrange the return with the owner. Agree on how pickup will be coordinated before booking. A driver waiting throughout the appointment is not automatic; discuss waiting and its charges if needed.

Can I request regular rides for dialysis, therapy, or follow-up appointments?

Yes. Choose recurring rides and share the first pickup date, preferred weekdays, appointment times, and return needs. Availability is checked for the initial series on submission. The owner reviews the route and confirms the full ongoing schedule with you; future rides are not booked until approved.

How should I arrange a hospital discharge ride?

Share the hospital, destination, expected release time, mobility needs, and the person coordinating the discharge. Confirm the pickup entrance and discuss assistance with the care team and owner. Since release timing can change, agree on the pickup arrangement before the ride is booked.

What should I do if my appointment changes or I need to cancel?

Contact the owner at 972-903-5199 as soon as you know. Provide your name and the planned trip date so the request can be reviewed. A new date, time, or route needs confirmation; ask about any cancellation or rescheduling terms before booking.

03 / 10 QUESTIONS

Pricing & payment

Understand the fare, possible extra charges, and payment arrangements.

What is the base fare for a passenger ride?

Private vehicle, non-emergency medical van, and wheelchair-accessible van requests share a $75.00 pickup fee per leg. That includes the first 10 driving miles from pickup to destination; each additional mile is $2.50. Vehicle choice does not change this base fare. Other applicable charges and the final quote are confirmed before booking.

How is a round trip priced?

A round trip has two legs. Each passenger leg has its own $75.00 pickup fee and 10 included driving miles, with $2.50 per additional mile. Timing premiums and the second-wheelchair fee, when applicable, are calculated for each leg. Share the actual outbound and return routes for the quote.

When does the $35 second-wheelchair fee apply?

The second wheelchair rider adds $35 per leg only when both wheelchair riders share the same pickup, destination, and timing. Separate stops, different destinations, or different schedules require an individual quote. The owner confirms the shared arrangement before booking.

How are waiting charges calculated?

Waiting includes a 15-minute grace period. After that, waiting is $40 per hour for ambulatory riders, $70 per hour when wheelchair assistance is needed, or $35 per hour for package transport, prorated by the minute. Discuss whether waiting is needed and how the pickup or return will be arranged before booking.

Are there extra charges for weekends, evenings, or holidays?

Base rates apply weekdays from 6 AM to 6 PM Central, excluding holidays. The highest applicable timing premium applies to each leg's pickup fee: 25% for weekend pickups, 50% for after-hours pickups from 6 PM to 6 AM, or 75% for holiday pickups. Those timing premiums do not stack on the same leg. Same-day booking adds $30 once per request. Confirm the requested time and total quote with the owner.

Is the online estimate my final price?

No. The calculator gives a private-pay planning estimate based on the details you enter. The owner confirms driving distance, passenger setup, timing, waiting, and the final quote before booking. Tolls and parking are added at actual cost. Separate stops or special arrangements need an individual quote.

How can I pay, and does the request form collect payment?

Private-pay options are Zelle, Cash App, Square, and cash. The request form and calculator do not collect payment. The owner provides payment instructions after your trip and quote are confirmed. Do not enter card details, account credentials, or payment information in the ride request.

Can Medicaid or Veterans Affairs pay for my ride?

Contact the owner about the specific program arrangement, eligibility, and any authorization required before booking. A Medicaid enrollment or VA appointment does not by itself confirm payment for a DC Elite ride. The website calculator estimates private-pay fares only.

Can I use Medicare for transportation with DC Elite?

Medicare provider approval is pending. Contact the owner for the current payment options for your trip. Medicare coverage or payment is not promised by a ride request.

What does the $450 to $650 weekly dialysis range mean?

It is a planning estimate for a recurring schedule, not a fixed weekly package or reserved series of rides. The owner quotes the actual plan using the route, number of trips, distance, assistance, and timing. Share your full appointment and return schedule for a confirmed quote.

04 / 4 QUESTIONS

Facilities & medical packages

Coordinate transportation for someone in your care or discuss a delivery.

Can a caregiver or facility arrange transportation for someone else?

Yes. The ride request lets you identify yourself as a family member, caregiver, or facility contact. Provide the arranging contact, route, schedule, passenger setup, and assistance needs. For ongoing facility coordination, use the client intake to start the conversation. The owner confirms each transportation arrangement.

What should I provide for a medical package delivery request?

Share the pickup and delivery locations, requested timing, package type, size, quantity, and required handling. Sealed medical supplies or equipment can be submitted for review. The owner confirms item eligibility and handling before accepting a delivery.

Can you transport specimens, medications, or temperature-sensitive packages?

These items need a separate acceptance review before any delivery is arranged. A standard package request does not establish temperature control, specimen handling, or medication handling. Discuss the item and every handling requirement with the owner first; acceptance is not automatic.

How is an eligible standard package delivery priced?

The pickup fee is $60.00 per leg, including the first 10 driving miles. Additional miles are $1.35 each. Package waiting has a 15-minute grace period, then is $35.00 per hour, prorated by the minute. Applicable timing premiums, same-day booking, tolls, and parking can also affect the quote. The owner confirms acceptance and the final price.
